Lara McGahan

Lara has loved the performing arts since she took her first ballet class at age 3. Whilst a student at Centenary Dance Academy, she trained primarily in ballet, reaching Advanced 1 in the RAD Syllabus. She also trained in contemporary, pas de deux (classical ballet), lyrical troupe and open ballet. Lara volunteered as an assistant teacher from 2017-2019, which fostered her love of teaching. A highlight of Lara’s years of dancing was being accepted into Ballet Theatre Queensland. She performed many roles with the company over 4 years, including as the soloist ‘Carabosse’ in The Sleeping Beauty (2019). Additionally, Lara has trained as a vocalist, performing lead roles in school musical theatre productions, in the Centenary Stage Band, and as a three-time finalist in the National A Cappella competition, AUSACA. Lara is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Music (majoring in Jazz Voice) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
