Belen Sobarzo

Acting Director of Jazz & Tap

Belen began her dancing journey at 3 years old at Debra Whitten School of Dance, and Clarrissa Hill Dance Centre shortly after where she trained extensively in RAD Ballet, COMDANCE Jazz, COMDANCE Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Acrobatics and Musical Theatre.
In 2014, Belen moved to Sydney to train full time in dance, voice and acting at ED5International, graduating in 2015 with a Diploma in Performing Arts as a Vocal Major. Upon graduating, Belen enjoyed auditioning and performing in gigs across the live entertainment, corporate, sport, film and non-profit industries, as well as teaching recreational, competition and vocational students at schools in both Sydney and Brisbane.
Belen currently holds Teachers Certificates in COMDANCE Modern Jazz and COMDANCE Tap, Acrobatic Arts Modules 1 & 2, Alixa Flexibility, Progressing Ballet Technique, Mat Pilates and Ready Set Dance, Ballet and Acro.
In 2024, Belen had the exciting opportunity to travel to New York City where she trained full time at Broadway Dance Center, and participated in their Independent Training Program’s Choreographic Track where she further developed her skills in choreography and performance-making.
Belen is currently continuing her studies at the University of Queensland studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science to further develop her knowledge in areas such as Safe Dance Practice, Injury Prevention, and Strength and Conditioning for Dancers.
